Farukoe: A Voice for the oceans
Introduction:
Farukoe is an environmental project initiated by the ministry of education. It is a whole school project involving the senior management team, staffs, students and parents. The main aim of the project is to make all the schools across the nation as a voice for the ocean schools. To achieve the above stated status, Majeediyya School is working hard to attain certain conditions given by the ministry of education. These conditions are summarized below:
- Banning of single use plastics.
- Reef exploration by taking all students for snorkeling.
- Conducting students and staff awareness activities including showing environmental videos, beach clean-up programs, drawing competitions and other environmental activities in the school.

SINGLE USE PLASTIC BAN
The school has banned all single used plastic bags within the school premises on 1st march 2018.
The school will also be banning single use plastic bottles starting from 1st of April 2018.
